The German Ambassador begs to enquire of the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any
restrictions exist for Hongkong in regard to the
acquisition of certain property rights by Gemane,
similar to the restrictions of section 11 of the
Allens Restriction (Amendment) Act, 1919, and more
particularly whether any restrictions exist govern-
ing the acquisition by Germans of shares in English
companies with registered offices at Hongkong.
Mr. Sthammer would be grateful if the Marquees
Curzon of Kedleston would cause any existing regu-
lations on the subject to be transmitted to him.
